The Magnetic Car

Befor Lockdown the Science elective, We learned about the magnetic powered car and how fast it took to get to the end of the of the netball court it took 24 scenonds. The magnet car is storng enough to climb 2 books and the magnite car could dribe over grass and it lost control onn the ramp when you went down it. it can drive on coucreek and it can drive on wood it was really fast like the flash and you could go backwards and it would flip over if you went over a bump you could go faster if you go backwards and side wards

Brain Box

Befor lockdown the  sicence Elective was having Free time with different experiments. There was 2 Brain Box's, Lemon Battery and Potatoe Battery, Magnet Car and Battery Car, Wich the other Sicence Buddy group had to put together. But we were doing the Brain Box. We made a cration that had a fan on it. At first we coudent figer out why it wasent working because we didt have all the parts. Have you ever created a Brain Box creation.

Olympic Values Animation

We were learning about the Olympic values which are, Respect, Excellence and Friendship

I found it easy to polyline the people and the pitchers

I found it hard to work with my buddy because he kept on deleting everything

I really enjoyed making the slide

Next time I need to work harder to finish the slide

The Coin Drop

In today's sicence elective we were learning about the coin drop.

This is what you need

  •  Paper or card
  • A cup
  • coins
This is what happened,An object at rest stays at rest and object in motion stays in motion with same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced/outside force.

The law of inertia and gravity work on the coins, the law states that an object at rest will stay at rest unless an opposing force is acted upon it. Click this link here to watch how its done.

The Egg Drop

In today's sicence elective we were trying the egg drop and this is what you need and what happened.

Equipment

  • 1 Cap
  • Water
  • A Flat Tray Or Plate (NOT A CHINA PLATE )
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cardboard Toilet Paper Roll

Newton's first law, Once the egg was moving, it didn't want to stop. The container of water interrupted the egg's fall, providing it a safe place for the egg to stop moving.

M&M Stacking Challenge

In today's Science elective we were trying to bet the world record of stacking 5 M&M and this is what happened and you can pactis by stacking Stones stacking is a meditative artistic skill which can be produced anywhere, with a growing global movement. Stone stacking utilises the materials found in nature and balancing uses nothing more than the natural gravitational pull of the Earth. Other names for this practice are Rock Balancing, Cairn building, Rock Stacking and more.

How do you do it?

Stones are placed one on top of the other to produce sculptures which are held together by nothing other than gravity. More experienced practitioners of stone stacking are also famous for building archways and other interdependent structures from rocks and stones found in nature.

Free Lunches In Schools Are A Fantastic Thing For Students

We were learning about persuasive writing and it is a type of argument writing🍎

I found it easy to publish it onto a google slide and put onto my blog🍓

I found it hard to write it on a google doc🍒

next time i will make it longer🍉

Milk Colour Explosion!

in today's science elective we were learning about milk and when you put food colouring and soup into it and this is what happened... Milk is mostly water, but it also contains vitamins, minerals, proteins, and tiny droplets of fat suspended in solution. Fats and proteins are sensitive to changes in the surrounding solution (the milk).

The secret of the bursting colors is in the chemistry of that tiny drop of soap. Like other oils, milk fat is a non-polar molecule and that means it doesn’t dissolve in water. When soap is mixed in, however, the non-polar (hydrophobic) portion of micelles (molecular soap structures in solution) break up and collect the non-polar fat molecules. Then the polar surface of the micelle (hydrophilic) connects to a polar water molecule with the fat held inside the soap micelle. Thanks to the soap connection, literally, the non-polar fat can then be carried by the polar water. This is when the fun begins.

The molecules of fat bend, roll, twist, and contort in all directions as the soap molecules race around to join up with the fat molecules. During all of this fat molecule gymnastics, the food coloring molecules are bumped and shoved everywhere, providing an easy way to observe all the invisible activity. As the soap becomes evenly mixed with the milk, the action slows down and eventually stops. This is why milk with a higher fat content produces a better explosion of color—there’s just more fat to combine with all of those soap molecules.

Cold Air Ballon

We were learning about Cold Air Ballon

I observed how the Balloon filled up with air from the baking soda and vinegar mix.

Next I will blow it up!

Balloon Madness

We were learning about endothermic reactions and Newton's 3 Laws of Motion.

I observed how the balloon travelled along the piece of string.

Next time i will try this at home.

Barth Bomb

In today's science elective we were learning to make Barth Bombs.
When a bath bomb comes in contact with water, the baking soda and citric acid react to make carbon dioxide bubbles. This is an acid–base reaction, where baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) is a weak base and citric acid is a weak acid.

Lava Lamp

During Science elective today we were learning to make homemade Lava Lamps and what the reaction was. What happened was that the oil stays above the water because the oil is lighter than the water or more specifically, less denser then water. The oil and water do not mix because of something called "intermolecular polarity."

It is important to be prepared in a natural disaster

We were learning about persuasive writing and it is a type of a opinion writing.

I found it easy to put it onto a google slide and publish it.

I found it hard to write it on a google doc.

Next time i will add more ideas.

School uniforms are a good thing for Awapuni School

We were learning about Persuasive writing and that it is about convincing somebody to do something.

I found it easy to put it onto the slide.

I found it hard to write it on a google doc.

Next time i will add more writing.

Sounds of Summer

We were learning about Sounds of summer.

I enjoyed posting it on my blog.

I found it hard to copy and paste it onto a google slide.

I found it easy to write about it.

Next time i will write a longer poem.

Tryathlon

We were learning about how to post a google slide to our blog.

I enjoyed making my own custom background.

I found it hard to post it on my blog.

I found it easy to publish it into a google slide.

Next time I will  make a longer slide.
